The game is slated for a 2011 launch.[3] As of September 2011 the most recent change to Stellar Dawn's homepage was on 18 November 2010,[6] which has lead some to believe that, like MechScape, the game may have been scrapped. A September 2011 press release stated that the game would be released within the next twelve months.[7]

“I am really excited to be welcomed into the Jagex team,” commented Wendy Rosenthal. “Jagex has been creating amazing games which entertain millions of people, young and old, in over 200 countries across the world for the last ten years. This in itself is a very exciting prospect from a marketing perspective. The company will not only be investing in great game content for RuneScape, but on developing and growing other titles, and for the first time focus will also be on marketing not just amazing content. Over the coming months we will, through marketing, be looking to engage with audiences from all over the world to mirror the way our phenomenal Community Management team engage with our vast, and dedicated existing community. We have a hugely exciting twelve months ahead with the release of 8Realms, Transformers Universe TM and Stellar Dawn and very soon the noise from the Jagex corner will have people sitting up and listening. There are some who may think they know Jagex, and some who do not, but if you think you know Jagex then think again and watch this space!”
