Quoted from Funorb.com

Quote

Our explosive new multiplayer game, Steel Sentinels, has landed on FunOrb. Prepare yourself for battle!
It is your mission to destroy all those who stand in your way, by piloting a sentinel to victory. The sentinels can carry an array of lethal weapons: guns, rockets, missiles, lasers, plasma launchers, lightning beamers and others even more destructive. Heavily armoured and able to withstand devastating levels of punishment, they can also be fast and mobile (with some even capable of flight). They are the ultimate product of a thousand years of armoured warfare and their average life expectancy is 92 seconds!

Piloting a sentinel is not for the faint hearted; battles are fast and frantic, and they will involve you dying (a lot). Each battle will see you re-entering combat with a new sentinel dropped into the warzone, as soon as your current one has been destroyed.

Steel Sentinels offers the following features:
-Extensive single player campaign that unlocks a variety of sentinels and equipment (we recommend you play through this as far as possible before embarking on multiplayer);
-Up to 12 players can take part in the multiple multiplayer battle modes, which include head-to-head, team games and co-operative play;
-12 different sentinels to unlock;
-Fully customisable sentinel chassis, with a vast array of weapons and components;
-A host of Achievements and in-game 'tags' for you to collect.

So hook up your neural link and click here to pilot your way to glory.

Go check it out. This is turning out to be quite a fun game for me right now. ;)

I like it so far. There's alot of tutorial action though haha

The controls are kind of annoying but I've gotten used to them. The customization thing is kind of nice as well.

Haven't played multiplayer yet, i'm definitely not ready for that haha

I wonder if it's related to Mechscape in any way. Looks fun though, I'll check it out.

THE POWER OF JEEAAASSUSSS should be a mech.

Anyone else think they copied the name "sentinel" from Warhammer 40k? Small, light walkers with weapons walking and shooting shit?

At least that's what I thought of. Gonna try it out right now it sounds very fun.

Ren's Mechscape April 2009 Research Summary said:

"According to...Mark Gerhard...the game originally focused on robots known as mechs (hence the name "MechScape"). However, he claims that "during the game's early evolution we became a lot more ambitious, and substantially widened our vision beyond just robots to encompass the wider possibilities of the sci-fi genre".

I think Steel Sentinels might be a FunOrb version of their original idea for MechScape.

I haven't gone onto multiplayer yet.. but I can't get past 7 on the campaign.. I spend 2 seconds in the air, fire one laser, then I get to see my ass getting handed to me for 10 seconds while I get energy back. Lock-on is nice, but shouldn't consume energy =/

I don't like the built-in delay in doing things that doesn't affect the enemy...

Missions are too hard because of that

You get bombarded with missiles and you can't really get out of them and therefore die.

Overall a good game but I am frustrated with the above.

1. Anyone Also Finding Slave Mechas OVERPOWERED in Multiplayer?

2. How the hell do you beat Mission 2 Campaign - In Cold Blood?! That Artillery Mech around 55% beats the living shit out of my Aquila every time! :P

I completed the whole tutorial and I finish like 5 of the other ones. The Slave mech is super over power...
I tried killing it with tactical moves, but they just keep owning me in multiplayer.

Unbalanced, ham-handed and telling barriers from the background is a chore.

I might give it another chance next time I sign up to FO.
Happy Explosion Day, gorgeous.

Just played, did the first campaign, overall its a fun game =]. bit annoying at times tough when u get completly barraged. But getting the hang of dodging and, swooping around and boom and bang and then MEEEELEEEE. fun =]

wasent to impresed with the multiplayer tough, preffed the tactical one t the action.

ALSO! i wish they used the ctrl key for Lock on cause i keep pressing the start menu button insted of ALT and it takes me out of full screen =[ since i gota use my thumb for alt.

Sounds like a great game, I'll give it a go :smile:
Interesting about the Slave Mechas.. methinks this game is somehow related to MS... and that there may be no mechs in MS at all!

They aren't mechas! Mechas are reflect the bodily movement of the pilots, MECHS are controlled by standard cockpit control like in a jet. Unless you somehow grew treads out of your feet last night, these are mechs! Sorry but that is a pet peeve i have :P
